Grandparents become especially distressed during the holidays when they have been denied access and in many cases denied the pleasure of gift-giving to a grandchild. There's nothing worse than having a gift returned, and nothing better than having a gift received. One solution is to make a donation to a charitable organization in the child's name. For example, donating to World Vision requesting a specific item such as a goat to a third world country family makes it a little more fulfilling.
