For grandparents who don't have access to grandchildren, Christmas can be a miserable holiday. To be able to give a gift to a child is a joy in itself and to be able to watch them open it is even better. So, when the child neither gets the gift and the grandparent isn't allowed to give the gift, Christmas becomes a sad day for both.
