Counseling Time

Scheduled counseling appointments can be so frustrating, you want to talk right then but the therapist can’t see you until there is an open slot. That can be said for support group meetings as well. Grandparents find themselves saving up their problems until the next meeting. One solution is to reach out to other grandparents in the group through email, phone or even in person meet-ups, but that requires stepping out of one’s comfort zone. What if they reject the request? Nothing ventured, nothing gained, and you’re no worse off than before you asked? If more support resources were available for grandparents experiencing visitation issues that would surely help solve the problem. It’s a commitment to volunteer on a consistent basis. Something to think about for sure.
