FIND THEM

It's been over 20 years since this organization began and by now those grandchildren have reached adulthood.

If you as a disenfranchised grandparent have not heard from them yet...what are you waiting for?

They are not going to seek you out. Why? They have been alienated by parents against the grandparent in one way or another. The fact that they have been kept away from a grandparent with or without explanation is a form of alienation.

So what is this grandchild supposed to do about it? There is no rule of conduct in this case. Expecting a grandchild to find the grandparent is unrealistic.

What is realistic is a grandparent never giving up. Keeping track of the child as they grow. Continuing to send correspondence to the child and when that option has been restrained then donate to a charity in the child's name.

In other words keep the thread going.

Once they are 18 years old the relationship becomes between the child and grandparent. Nothing worthwhile is easy. This is a lot of hard work which takes consistent dedication to building the relationship.

So, once again, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? FIND THEM.
