Secret Keeper

I know grandparents are supposed to be secret keepers, which is fine to instill that kind of trust with grandchildren, however tread lightly. Be discriminating about what kind of secrets should be kept. Never expect a grandchild to keep your secrets. This is too much pressure to lay on a small child’s shoulders expecting them not to tell parents even what seems like small indiscretions. Example, mom says no caffein and grandma buys the kid a Coke, and then tells the kid not to tell. It’s the little things that add up and cause parents to blow up. So, don’t compound overstepping boundaries with little white lies disguised as ‘secrets’.
