The odds are pretty close to fifty-fifty that you will be awarded court ordered visitation with your grandchild. The decision rests in the hands of the presiding judge. Once a petition is filed with the court, the wheels of the system begin to slowly churn and along with that the people who are caught up in the process. This process is a slow one and each day that chips away is another day without seeing the grandchild. In the end there are no real winners. Sometimes it’s the only way, but everyone should be reminded that the legal route should only be a last resort.
