When something goes awry with visitng your grandchild stop and think about the details before acting. Sure it feels rotten when something happens that prevents us from frequently spending time with our grankids. And when this occurs in families and sometimes there is no warning.
Rather than getting angry and becoming confrontational with the parent or taking the extreme approach and saying nothing, stop and make a plan to communicate in a productive manner. But never choose the legal route first.
Taking legal action as the first course of action will most likely sabotage any future positive outcome.
Begin by taking steps to work out through a non-shaming, non-blaming, positive communication with the parent.
Taking the least adversarial approach means, "don't jump the gun."
This takes work but remember you're in control and a judge.
Taking legal action should only be as a last resort.
